    Aïssatou Sidimé-Blanton holds the Chartered Life Underwriter® and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designations and is a consultant with Business Financial Group's Corporate Retirement Services team. As such, her responsibilities include managing relationships with clients through ongoing communication and review meetings, designing educational materials and conducting enrollment and ongoing education meetings on employer-provided retirement and employee benefit plans for client companies. She also serves on BFG’s Financial Consulting Committee, which evaluates products and services offered by the firm, and Be Fit & Sponsorship Committee, which coordinates wellness initiatives and manages community service and BFG’s corporate sponsorship of events, charities, and organizations.

    Aïssatou has had a lifelong passion for educating others about financial wellness. She started working at BFG in 2009 as a marketing coordinator, where her responsibilities included maintaining the website, writing educational content, and organizing events. At this time, she was also pursuing her Registered Paraplanner® (now Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional™) designation, and once she achieved that milestone, she transitioned into a paraplanner role in BFG’s Individual Financial Planning department. There, she created financial plans for clients and further honed her knowledge with on-the-job training. In 2015, Aïssatou was promoted to education coordinator. In 2019, she completed her Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) designation and was promoted to her current role as education consultant.  In 2021, Aïssatou attained her Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation.

    Aïssatou is also a former partner in MediaWrite of San Antonio that provides ghostwriting and editing assistance. She spent nearly 15 years as a reporter focusing on financial news, which is how Aïssatou was introduced to BFG. The Lake Charles, Louisiana, native holds a BA in mass communications with a print specialty from Xavier University of Louisiana, an MA in international affairs (comparative and regional studies) degree from The American University (Washington, DC) School of International Service, and an advanced degree in French language and civilization from Universite de Paris, La Sorbonne I.

    She is also a volunteer with several organizations, including the San Antonio Ethnic Art Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Texas, the San Antonio Association of Black Journalists, the San Antonio Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, Texas Public Radio and Abiding Presence Lutheran Church.
